THE GIVERNY REDUX PROJECT
Jake Fernandez visited Claude Monet's home and gardens in Giverny, France , where Monet lived from 1883 until his death in 1926. Many of his most familiar works were created in that environment, and it has become a hallowed destination with a weighty history.
Giverny Redux is based on one day, rather than 43 years, and investigates the compressed and accelerated experience recorded photographically to be revisited in the studio. Through a series of black and white drawings that will become full color paintings and drawings, a unique perspective of this iconic locale wll develop at a distance and through the opposite end of the telescope.
It is a project in progress, this is the beginning........
